Myron Allukian Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contributions in Community Dental Program 2011 Recipient

Ms. Sanzi-Schaedel spent 28 years as the director of the Multnomah County Health Department’s School and Community Dental Health Programs in Oregon. Her career has been characterized by many contributions to help improve oral health care delivery for underserved populations and by the mentorship, collaboration, and leadership she offered to those working in community oral health programs. She also served as a Head Start consultant to IHS from 1991 to 1993. In addition to serving in many other capacities on local, state, and national committees, Ms. Sanzi-Schaedel was president of the Oregon Dental Hygienists’ Association and chair of the Oral Health Section, American Public Health Association; she is also a founding member of the Oregon Oral Health Coalition.
