Major W. Tappan, D.D.S., M.P.H., received the Myron Allukian Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Achievements in Community Dental Programs at the American Association for Community Dental Programs' annual symposium on April 29, 2007, in Denver, CO.

Dr. Tappan, formerly with the Denver Department of Health and Hospitals, is know for directing exemplary community oral health programs in Denver, CO, while serving as the city's dental director as well as for his many contributions to improving the oral health of America's communities.
